Rock Climbing - belaying
Belaying is a very important element in Rock climbing. The safety of the climber is in the belayer's hand. Dont play play.
Equipment for belaying is also important. How to use the equipment is also important. the right attitute belaying the climber is also important.
First, hook the carabiner onto the hardness, the gate is facing down. Lock the gate using only one finger. (2 finger locking may be over tighten the lock and unable to loosen later). The "big head" of the carabiner will be headed outward.
Secondly, squeeze the rope through the ATC (Air Traffic Controller). Hook the rope together with the ATC onto the carabiner that attached to the harness.
Before climbing on, both belayer and climber has to check each other, is the carabiner lock, is the double 8 knot on climber correct, is the hardness fixed on correctly. climber always need to make sure belayer is ready before climb on. Both Climber and Beleyer also need to make sure that the top rope is not over-lapping.
Normally the climber will say: climb.
and if the belayer ready, will answer climb on.
And the climber can start climbing.
When the climber is climbing, belayer need to pay attention to the climber, pull the rope by using the step 1 2 3.
l = pull
2 = lock
3 = change hand
Always pull the rope whenever the climber is climbing on. Also need to know that the climber may at anytime fall from the rock. so the locking position is very importand.
When the climber reach the top, and wish to come down, then the belayer need to pull the rope to tighten the rope and both hand holdng the rope at the locking position. rope can be release slowing and the climber can walk down.
P/S.: Never step on the rope. The rope is the saving device that save your life when you fall.

Rock Climbing
Visited Camp 5 Yesterday. Tried Rock climbing.
A few rules and terms need to know and remember before climbing the wall.
1. Check on the equipment, make sure equipment are in good condition.
2. Put on Harness, and always check that both the climber’s and belayer’s harness
are properly fixed on.
3. Climber and belayer always need to communicate to ensure both are ready. Climber need to always make sure the belayer is ready before climb on.
For safety purpose, the climber will be connected with the TOP ROPE by tying the top rope to the harness using double figure 8 knot.
Always ensure the length of the free end of the rope is more the a fist long.
Climber : Climbing
Belayer : climb on
Ok ,can climb now.
One the way UP.
Shaking on top cracking head how to move on, at the same time not forget to SMILE.
To come down, need to tell the belayer "DOWN" and only move after get a confirmation from the Belayer. For coming down, just hold both hand on the rope, swift the weight to the harness. Move both leg agaisnt the wall, have a "L" shape agaisn the wall. elayer will release the rope slowly, and the climber will walk down the wall slowly.
Also had tried the Auto-belayer. Climbing up is easy but when need to let go the hand to have a free fall is hard, the heart was pumping 1000 to let go the hand, and I was struggle to let to the hand, gosh... fear of let go.
After become a "PRO" Will challenge this wall.
Rock Climbing, here I come.
